1983 Malayalam Movie Review

1983, the title itself made me enthusiastic and made this movie one of the most awaited entertainer of this year.Most of us,who born after 83,spend our childhood and teenage with cricket.Since 83 our nation witnessed the frequent growth of the game and passion of people towards players and the same.And we the 80ians got a huge opportunity to witness a legacy unbeatable -Sachin Tendulkar, at the early phases of our life..1983 is all about how a game became the eminent factor in the life of rameshan, a village fellow

About the story

Story begins with rameshan(nivin) @40+ stands out after huge turning point in his life.From the very beginning of his life, rameshan lived, roared and battled for cricket.He got a numerous friends of the same wavelength whom are also the diehard cricketing freaks.They played together and emerged success for several times.Mean while pappetan (saiju kurup) captain of their team and a very lovable friend, was forced to bounce back for kuwait as it was the trend of keralites at late 70's and 80's.As the time grows up, the gang turns to a single person - rameshan...he was still in touch with the game with the next generation boys..
Gradually, a teenage love affair was also effected for rameshan of the same reason..he lost her also....in spite of all of these events happened, he failed to pass out in pre degree examinations and his father(joy thomas), a motor mechanic takes rameshan to his workshop as a last chance of survival..
Anyhow he managed to help his father and later his marriage fixed with a typical village girl(srinda ashab)..
Later what all happened in rameshan's life is rest of the story...

Wot I most liked

1)Title cards showing legacy of indian cricket saga from 1983 and sachin!!

2)Introduction of rameshan(nivin) with a moment of time he takes a catch...splendid one.

3)funny comments and moments during play which was so real..
"Da ne single etta mathi, njan jayipikam","batileku tane ball ettukodukalleda @#@$ mone","mundinadyil elastic matrame ullu tazhottu onumilla"(this dialogue scene and the counter part happened..
"jayikuna aalku first batting","athu pattilla toss edanam", searching for ball which is lost after a sixer and getting an old ball which was lost days back..:-),"prahladane ningal free aay edutho teamileku","evanetha pambaro, kidanu karangunathu kando bat cheyumbo","epozhum runout aavunanavan"

4)poem scene after rameshan came to know his love intrest got married and was touched by her husband infront of rameshan.

Bt a true scene from life..(me too pass through that situation..


5)As an actor,nivin pauly did a stupendous job..was wonder always, found pauly,a very underrated man of sense of humour and timing.This is a first time movie of nivin to perform throughout the entire movie as he gone through 20's,30's and 40's of rameshan..I would say nivin is the best natural actor in the league of the seniors jayaram, dileep..

5)Joy Mathew....some days back @Agni told somewhere joy is an overrated actor of his genre and kalashala babu was better..
This movie is the reply to you...
The scene where he shows the urgue to help rameshan for fulfilling his dreams..

6)Gopi sundar...Yet another super hit n diverse music album with the support of top notch BGM..

7)Abrid shine..Captain of the 1983 'team'....what I liked in him is the way he used to tell the story..All of the friends in the gang were so real to see in a malayalam cinema...not a forced cinematic friendship...much more real..eventhough the film was lacking of pace in the first 10-20 mts of the second half, each n every scenes was a treat to watch...nothing more to say, waiting for your next venture...excellent start up and all the very best!!!

Morover 1983 is quite inspirational movie packed with some of the finest nostalgic moments we lived up and it works for you, am sure...

interval scene found in similar tracks of diamond necklase..am not telling its a negative factor,but viewers expect some funny scenes following the first night episode..bt it was slightly missing in second half and completely loss the pace for the first few minutes of 2nd half as I mentioned earlier..I think gradual change of pace was much better in 2nd half...things found get slower as the matter of time
